I didn't do it, he did!

Aren't we all sometimes guilty of telling lies? We basically lie to either ourselves or to others. Lies require a lot of cognitive effort and energy. It is not an easy thing to do(note: I am NOT encouraging it) I should say. Why? You see, a liar always has to come out with ways or stories to cover up the truth by keeping silent or twisting and turning the truth. Some even go further than that...

Now how about the so called white lies and black lies? Any REAL differences between those two? Should we for whatever reason accept one and deny the other?

To me, a lie is always a lie!

I find myself agreeing with kukukucinta. You really have to tell lies, black or white, sometime in you life, no doubts about that.

Sometimes i'm stuck in btwn, so i'll have to pls everyone. Lying for other people's sake - still considered lying right?

Keeping mum abt some facts made known to you but not telling for fear that it would be hurtful - still considered lying right?

peoples are selfish therefore they lie. i lie too. :(

Amen! A lie is always a lie. And the truth will always outlive a lie. White lies and black lies are all lies. Simon Andrew Terence Alan Nelson is the father of liars.

When I tell a lie, everyone knows - 'cos I can't lie properly. Heehee..
My accounts teacher was talking about not telling the truth vs lying.
If don't want to lie, then don't say. heehee...
I don't like people who lie unless there's one helluva good reason to.

A lie is a lie yes, but to me sometimes a white lie is better than telling the straight truth (to the listener). For example, if a friend had a really bad haircut, I'd just say I liked his/her last haircut better, as opposed to saying, "wow, you look like a horse!"

As long as the 'lie' is not for one's own gain, then I guess it's ok.

Many of the truths we hold onto
depend on our point of view

It is matter of perspective. The most important thing is to be a nice person. Regarding telling lies, I guess it is secondary.

Some people like to listen to lies :-)
